1. I would catorigize the trombone into the Brass family.
2. There are two trombone players in the cincinnati symphony Orchestra and their names are Cristian Ganicenco and Lee Rogers.
3. The player buzzes his or her lips while blowing air into a cup or funnel shaped mouthpiece. It isnt different than what a Trumpet player does.
4. The tubing is 6-1/2 feet long.
5. The player just adds more tubing to the instrument or they can take some of it away to make the sound change.
6. If it had less tubing it would have a higher sound.
7. Yes, there are trombones with valves Mr. Watras.
8. It is written with the Brass Clef, but sometimes it is written with the Tenor Clef or Alto Clef.
9. Yes, depending on the amount of Tubing it has in the instrument.
10. The Trombone has a kind of happy sound to it at times but then sometimes it has a more darker sound to it.
