Tuba Questions

I would categorize the Tuba into the Brass family. http://www.classicsforkids.com/terms/terms.asp?id=314
There is one Tuba player in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra his name is Michael Thorton. http://www.cincinnatisymphony.org/Musicians/orchestra.asp
The player buzzes their lips while blowing air through a cup or funnel shaped mouth piece. It is different because the tubing ends in a bell. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/dso.asp?PageID=216
It has 16 feet of tubing. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/dso.asp?PageID=216
The shorter the tubing, the higher the sound. The longer the tubing, the lower the sound. All the player needs to do is change the amount of tubing be adding or taking away the amount of tubing in the instrument. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/dso.asp?PageID=216
If the player takes away some of the tubing they will have a higher sound. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/dso.asp?PageID=216
No, you can not play the Tuba standing up because the instrument is to big. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/dso.asp?PageID=216
You would use the Brass clef to play music for the Tuba. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuba
The instruments that take place of a Tuba in a marching band is the Trumpet and Trombone. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/instrumentchart.htm
The Tuba has a hard sound to it and it seems to change pitches a lot. http://www.dsokids.com/2001/dso.asp?PageID=216
